The people in Pontevedra were lovely.

The people in Pontevedra were lovely. Very friendly & helpful. Food & drink were value for money & always good quality. It feels very ‘Spanish’ & not too touristy. Totally recommend for a mainland stay.

Pontevedra is a very pretty city. The old town area is large and stylish and has all the tourist needs like amazing food and drink places, accommodation, markets and shops and it's been fully pedestrianised. Also is surrounded by amazing beaches and trekking paths.

Pontevedra has a charming old city center, with its two-storied houses and its porticoes. As a pilgrim, I recommend a visit to the cathedral and to the monastery complex, and a casual stroll about the streets. Though I know there is much more to see and to do in Pontevedra besides passing by. There are restaurants for every taste, ranging from fast food and pizzas to the local gastronomy, which is very rich and tasty - the fish and the octopus. If there is one thing I really didn't like (at all), it was the bus station, which looks abandoned. If you must travel by bus, you'd better go directly to the bus parking place and try to find someone to talk to over there - or ask a bus driver.

Pontevedra (and surrounding areas) is a must to visit. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed - so a great place to go if you want to get away. It has history, culture and the walk along the river is priceless (either for sport or just to relax). The people are great too. Pontevedra is a great city to walk in (you can tell there's been a big push for pedestrians in preference to cars!)

Great city to visit, well of the tourist trail. Lots of bars & restaurants, especially in the old city. Did a trip to the Atlantic coast which was well worth the effort. Stunning views out to the islands.

Pontevedra to us is a hidden gem not only of Galicia but the whole of Spain. It is very beautiful and almost traffic free which means wandering around and visiting the many historic buildings and the fabulous shops and bars makes it just about perfect. It also is very convenient for travelling to the many wonderful coastal areas and the mountains. There are also riverside walks around the town so plenty to see and do. Perfect!

We were a group of friends on the Camino de Santiago and stayed in two apartments for one night. The appartments were right on the Camino in the centre of Pontevedra. Communication with the host was via Whatsapp. She was able to give us access remotely to the main front door and then once we were in there was a lock box with the keys. We had two apartments and there were beautiful. We didn't want to leave after our stay. We used a bag transfer service and there were no issues in terms of arranging or for them gaining access.

The hotel is excellent -- mid-sized, nice rooms, very good service from check-in staff, bar staff, and housekeepers. The location is a "two-edged sword," however. I loved being in the historic heart of Pontevedra; it's a lovely city to explore. There are wonderful shops, cafes, restaurants and architecture within a short walk. And if you need modern shops the newer section of town is a short walk along the newly pedestrianized street. Had it not been for the noise (see below) I'd rate this hotel a ten. A perfect stay. Good location a few blocks away from the old pedestrian-only part of the city. Family-run, friendly check-in although cramped reception desk if several people arrive at the same time. Many guests were pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, as I was. No breakfast. Bathroom down the hall, shower had good water pressure and hot water. Older building; fairly spacious rooms compared with some newer hotels.

Location, location, location!!!! In the heart of old town pontevedra. Great for families as it's almost like two separate apartments. So much privacy. Spotless, has anything you need. As a small group traveling the Camino we had confusing and changing arrival times. The hostess was so accommodating, was wonderful after a long day walking. Would highly recommend this establishment.

This was the best albergue/hostel stay of our entire Camino. Fantastic! The staff were wonderful - very friendly and attentive. The spacious and well thought out design of the hostel is impressive, with many touches to enhance comfort. Located conveniently just off the Camino trail and close to the historic area of Pontevedra. Would highly recommend!

Everyone there was wonderful and kind. It was raining, and they were kind enough to let us inside before check-in. Rooms were very comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate. The location is great if you're walking on the Camino. It's right on the Camino, at the beginning of Pontevedra.
