Molinaseca is a lively town.
Molinaseca is a lively town. A lot of excellent restaurants, bars and hostels. Mountains and a river surround it. Through a nice track, 3 km away, there are two Roman bridges. It's nice for a morning walk. I saw 2 deers this morning.

The owner Raul was such a character.
The owner Raul was such a character. He explained everything to us as the buffet breakfast was self service. He was delighted that we were staying for 3 nights as a lot of people probably only stayed overnight on their pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela The room was spotless and a decent bathroom made the stay very comfortable. He ran the supermarket within the building and his brother Jorge ran a nearby restaurant. The brothers could not be more helpful. Our party were given a signed bottle of wine on our departure. A really nice touch.

The room was spotlessly clean, shower hot and powerful, and a sweet little balconette to from to watch pilgrims arriving into the village. situated a minute from the Camino, just an immediate left from the bottom of the Puente Romano (Roman bridge) that brings you into Molinaseca. I’m 2021, we loved this tiny historic town at the base of a grueling yet intriguing descent from Foncebadón. There’s a river to lay in and ice weary bodies or minimize swelling, but the owner here runs the shop, hotel and restaurant, so apparently he doesn’t have time for customer service. He was so threatening to me and we were traveling with teenage daughters, we could hardly sleep, so afraid.

Also, the hotel occupied a great location being at the far end of the town on the path of the Camino. It allowed you to walk through the Main Street observing shops, restaurants & bars, before finally arriving at what can only be described as a little of oasis of rest & tranquility!
