We were greeted by the owner Christina upon arrival! She created a small oasis with the property that makes you feel comfortable and "at home" from the minute you arrive. Rooms are great, beds comfortable, bathrooms modern and nice. Outdoor area is relaxing and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and we could enjoy outdoors.

Very high level of hospitality. Impeccably clean and tidy. Not every 5 star hotel can brag with this variety of hygiene supplies found in the bathroom. The host, a noble-looking Portugese senhiora, did her best to accommodate my requests despite the language barrier. The interior of the villa is fancy, borderline boujee :).

Very well contained, with everything you need. The Host was amazing and helped me through my stay! Even took me to grocery, to a dinner spot and showed me the area! Provided bread for my breakfast!

All the good restaurants are outside Esponsende - mainly in Apulia. A nice little hike or short taxi ride. Bridge to Fao needs some TLC, at least if you walk over it. Fantastic views, but the rusty bits on the footpath high above the water are somewhat anxiety-inducing (and I even heard that from experienced Camino walkers ...) Would not walk over a second time ...

Esposende was one of the best places to stay that we have had on this trip for the Camino de Santiago. The people that run the hotel are wonderful and very friendly. Everything is very clean and they have a great lounge with a good kitchen to make what you want. I would recommend them and their rooms to anyone going to that area.

We thought everybody had left town.
We thought everybody had left town. The whole place was strangely quiet and deserted. We struggled to find an open place to eat. It was early September. A lot of derelict buildings.
Just about good enough for a one night Camino stopover.

We are an elderly couple who have been to the area many times since 1975 and never tire of it. It has not suffered overdevelopment like many other resorts. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the food and laid back style . The surrounding area such as Ponte de Lima is superb so a car enhances the experience.

Esposende is a nice little town and a cool spot for kitesurfing. When I was there it was quiet and relaxing. I couldn't find amazing places for lunch or dinner actually, but some nice local patisseries instead. Having said that, there is some offer, just not to the level I was hoping. The coast is nice, the wind strong, people are nice too, and it is very close to other nice towns in the north of Portugal

Very nice place with nice sea and the special cakes from Fao. If you are in Esposende you have definitely to go to get some "Clarinhas de Fão". Fão is on the south bank of the river. You can find them in a very small "pastelaria".
If you like to be treated on a personal level than this is the place to stay. Very friendly and attentive young lady running the hotel. Modest from the outside but very nice and modern from the inside. Business is based on family values and "Grandma" is still present, making sure the guests get the best value for money. Opposite the hotel there is a restaurant with an excellent cuisine offering fresh fish and meat from the grill. Beach is within 3min walking distance. Small Supermarket 2 min.
Anita’s guesthouse is conveniently located along the Camino. Her house and the room are charming, comfortable, and spacious, and she makes sure you have everything you need. Anita is an incredibly kind and welcoming host. It honestly felt like I was staying at a good friend’s place. We shared some lovely conversations and Anita made sure to also give you your own space to relax and decompress after a long day on the Camino. Many thanks Anita for a wonderful stay!
Central location, brilliant for the Camino, the property is very well serviced for all your needs. We had an issue having badly sprained my ankle as we were about to cross the Fao-Esposende bridge, we’re our host help with establishing opening times for the local supermarket (a national holiday on the evening we arrived) but also went out her way to put us in touch with an English speaking taxi (thank you Sofia) driver who took us onwards to our next hotel🙏
Delighted with our stay in Marinhas. A modern hotel with big, bright rooms and good size beds. Great size toilet and shower too. The view of the countryside and river is beautiful - we arrived at sunset which was stunning to see. Great to have a balcony to sit out in and enjoy all of that. Staff very friendly and breakfast fine. Really good value for money. On camino route, for those who would enjoy a relaxing night's stay. Bustops near if required. .
We are doing the Camino Portugués and pick the location because of the access to the route. We were happy with the location, the room and its quality. The staff person was superb and gave us good and clear directions to the route. In addition, I found it amusing that the hotel is in a gas station. An extra bonus was that the view from the rooms faced the ocean and the modern minimalist decor. Great little
Place.
I newer guesthouse in Esposende. Clean , modern and well run. An absolute delight. We had a family room with three beds, nice linens and a lovely shower. Walking distance to great restaurants. Breakfast in the morning which is included is exceptional and a good place to meet other pilgrims should you choose to do so. exceptional value.
This property is in an excellent location, very close to all types of little stores and the beach. It is also a very good value. We really appreciated having an outdoor deck, even though the wall was so high, there was no view, it was really nice to be able to get outside. Comfortable bed and nice quality linens.
Right on the camino road into town. Nice tidy hotel. Good continental style breakfast. Left my backpack for delivery to next hotel with Top Santiago, staff kept it secure , all went well.
10min walk to town square .
This is one of the greatest places I've stayed in Portugal. I'm hiking the Camino. The breakfast was phenomenal. The owners are lovely and super helpful. The rooms were great.
The check in staff were lovely and friendly.
The kitchen had everything.
There was cake for breakfast.
The room was fab.
